The Göteborg University provides state-of-the-art facilities where advanced instrumentation is offered along with technical expertise and cutting edge methodology. Ranging from light and electron microscopy to the study of cellular and intracellular processes to biomolecular analysis, including mass spectrometry, protein expression and NMR, these facilities constitute a unique and internationally competitive cluster of resources, all available within a distance of about 100 meters. Facilities for molecular analysis are complemented with equally advanced centers for animal studies including whole mouse imaging and physiology as well as transgenic knock-in and knock out studies. These are located in the animal house providing expertise as well as support through well trained veterinary staff.
Apart from constituting a direct support for research, all facilities play an active role in education providing hands on training for students and scientists, both locally as well as nationally/internationally.
